The latest efforts from our dedicated Eco Committee team saw Kirsty Butler, HR, fit ‘Hippos’ to all the toilets around the business. These simple, but ingenious devices save approximately 3 litres per flush and work by holding back some of the water that sits inside the cistern in a durable plastic bag – a fantastic invention – and you know we love a gadget here at Paladone HQ!

Approx. 12 toilets have been fitted with the Hippos at an incredibly low TOTAL cost of £20 to purchase, and half an hours slightly damp work for Kirsty, fitting them into the cisterns. This simple way to reduce water usage is incredibly effective – if you are interested in installing these at home they might be free through your water supplier as part of a scheme;
