Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a prequel to the Harry Potter series and shows the adventures of magizoologist Newt Scamander and his suitcase full of magical creatures as they arrive in New York. The movies’ special effects team did an amazing job in creating incredibly realistic beasts that will fill viewers with joy and amazement.
Written by JK Rowling and directed by Harry Potter director David Yates, this movie has been widely anticipated and we must say it doesn’t disappoint. As we delve back in to the magical world created by JK Rowling it is safe to say she has hit the jackpot again and has sparked the love and imagination of many Harry Potter fans once more.
The movie is set in 1920’s New York where the ownership of magical creatures has been banned. When some of Newt’s beasts escape from his suitcase he needs to work quickly to recapture them, however there are darker forces at work that will put both the magical and no maj (American term for muggle) world at risk. This movie allows us to experience a new perspective of the world of magic and the amazing special effects help bring our imagination to life.
The special effects team have opened up a whole new world and when we enter Newt’s suitcase we get to see an array of stunning magical creatures such as bowtruckles, nifflers and a thunderbird all of which are shown in their natural habitats which is once again a stroke of CGI genius and provides wonder and amazement to viewers young and old.
This visually stunning movie opens up the magical world even more and is delightful to watch for fans new and old. Award winning actor Eddie Redmayne, brings the wonderful and loveable character of Newt Scamander to life who shows bravery and compassion throughout the film and who will quickly become a firm favourite with all Harry Potter fans.
