A Look At The Nintendo Switch

Nintendo are undeniably one of the biggest, best known brands in the world. They are the name that has brought the likes of Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda into our lives and produced some of the greatest consoles for their equally amazing games. Once again Nintendo have impressed with another outstanding device –  The Nintendo Switch. The Switch was eagerly awaited and snatched off the shelf at first chance by anyone who hadn’t pre-ordered it. It is the most versatile console to date being used as a handheld device for when you’re out and about and doubling up as a controller and separate console to play on the bigger screen at home.

Battery Life

All the doubters who worried that it could not work as a portable device because of battery life have been proven wrong as you can get over 3 hours of continuous gameplay, which is incredible when you consider the astonishing gameplay quality versus other portable consoles. Combined with the USB port which allows the use of a portable battery pack, the battery life of the Switch is not an issue and it easily propels the Switch into the number one spot when it comes to handheld consoles.

The Joy-Con Controller

The Joy-Con controllers are everything in one. They are motion sensitive, much like a Wii controller, and form a joy pad resembling other household consoles making it the ideal controller when you play on your TV with the Switch docked. Some people have gone as far as to call it “an absolute engineering masterpiece” and it is hard to argue with them.

Games

In addition, Nintendo have created some amazing games for the Switch with many more awesome titles on the way. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild has been labelled as one of the best Zelda games of all time which is no easy feat. As well as this Switch owners, can look forward to the newest instalment of Mario Kart with Mario kart 8 Deluxe, which will be bringing the 4-player multiplayer capabilities of the Switch to the forefront of the Nintendo Switch experience thanks to the family fun, competitive we have come to expect from Mario Kart. The Switch will become even more popular in the coming months once Mario’s second Switch game, Super Mario Odyssey, arrives. It is the first Super Mario sandbox game since Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine and it promises to be an amazing, fun-filled game.

Amiibo

The Switch is possibly the most capable member of the Nintendo roster and as such supports amiibo so keep a hold of your amiibos and see what they can do for The legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and other upcoming titles. There is a wide range of amiibos spanning from Pac-Man to Mario so there’s a lot of potential for new Switch titles to continue to use amiibos.

The Nintendo Switch is an incredible console, which offers a level of versatility not seen before from a console. The games are incredible and look to continue down a path of success and the controller is a revolutionary piece of equipment – making the Switch a gaming masterpiece.
