As it’s been nearly three whole months since we had a Marvel film to get excited about, we’re mightily relieved that Thor: Ragnarok is finally here!
The third MCU film of this bumper year, 2017 really has spoiled us rotten for big scale cinematic treats. Thor: Ragnarok, released in UK cinemas on October 27th, follows Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming to become the 17th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing us up to speed before next year’s highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War.
Picking up the action four years after Thor: The Dark World, and two years after the last Avengers film Age of Ultron, Thor: Ragnarok once again sees Chris Hemsworth picking up the mighty hammer Mjölnir, this time taking on one of his fellow Avengers – Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk.
The pair also reunite with Tom Hiddleston’s mischievous Loki, and are introduced to brand new characters such as the villainous Hela (Cate Blanchett) and the wonderfully hedonistic Grandmaster (played brilliantly by everyone’s favourite former fly Jeff Goldblum).
The trailer’s already got us excited, and the film looks to be a fun romp through the world of Asgard, seemingly taking much of its story inspiration from the 2006 Hulk comic Planet Hulk.
Though we’re sure it all comes right in the end, we’re on tenterhooks to see Thor and the mighty Hulk come face to face in battle. And we know we’re not the only ones looking forward to the latest release – the Marvel franchise is already one of the most successful in cinema history, with a loyal fanbase desperate for all things Marvel.
