Sports Day 2019

Once a year the whole Paladone team get a chance to unleash their inner-child and let off some steam at Sports Day. Run by Altitude Events, 2019s Sports Day was an Inflatable Activity Bonanza!

The UK office was divided into 10 random teams of 8 people, with a manager or director at the helm of each, providing an excellent opportunity to mingle with colleagues from all the around the business – and inspire some fierce competition among the team leaders!

We rarely need an excuse to dress up and Sports Day at Paladone certainly wouldn’t be the same if we all didn’t have to look silly, so of course, there was a theme (last year it was Battle of the Bands – check out some of the amazing team efforts here). It turns out we were just a letter away from this years theme.. Battle of the Brands! As Paladone work with some of the biggest licences in the world alongside our own trend-led ranges, there was plenty of opportunity for the creative juices to flow and based on previous efforts, we were in for a treat!

Meet the teams..

Luckily for us the sun came out to play, as we enjoyed a glorious day down the local park.

The Events

• Dodgeball/Volleyball – A bouncy castle style court sharing these two iconic events
• Wacky Races – a series of teamwork based races, where coordination and communication was paramount
• Extreme Connect 4 – Obstacle course + Connect 4, mixing physical prowess with brain power
• Earth Ball – a teamwork based time trial, where the players had to maneuver an 8ft exercise ball around an obstacle course
• Bungee Run – attached to a bungee, contestants had to run and put down there markers as far away before they are catapulted back to the start
• Human Table Football – attached to a poll, players can only move left and right in a life-size adaptation of the classic Foosball game (no spinning allowed)

Whilst the referee’s were totting up the scores the teams were fed Pizza’s and a chance to enjoy a well earned drink.

To round off the terrific day, everyone headed to the pub to carry on the party into the evening and beyond!
