This summer is shaping up to be a power-up for Nintendo fans everywhere. With the long-anticipated release of the Nintendo Switch 2 arriving on June 5th, the gaming console is on everyone’s minds. And if that wasn’t enough, the launch of Mario Kart World alongside it promises fast-paced fun like never before. At Paladone, we’re racing towards these huge milestones along with the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. this year.
That’s right – Super Mario Bros. turns 40 this year! Since 1985, Mario has powered his way into the hearts of gamers everywhere. From humble 8-bit beginnings to blockbuster movie stardom, Mario has continuously been a true force in the gaming world. And with a sequel to the record-smashing Super Mario Bros. movie confirmed for April 2026, it’s clear that the world of Super Mario is only getting bigger and better.
To mark four decades of platform-jumping gameplay, Paladone is reviving its collection of nostalgic products with some new additions and some legendary comeback products. First up, we’ve got two stunning new additions that went down well in Nuremberg at the Spielwarenmesse Toy Fair earlier this year: the Super Mario Diorama Light and the Fire Flower Lamp. Both products are designed with in-world elements to light up your space.
In other news, we’re diving into the warp pipe of nostalgia and bringing back some of our most beloved retro Nintendo products. Classics like the Donkey Kong Cookie Jar, Donkey Kong Shaped Mug, and Game Boy Heat Change Mug are making a triumphant return. Inspired by Nintendo throughout the years, these returning fan-favourites continue to tap into the nostalgia that has made the brand iconic for generations.
Also, with Mario Kart World debuting alongside the Switch 2, now’s the perfect time to revisit our high-speed officially licensed Mario Kart products. From heat change mugs and drinking glasses, to in-world Red Shell, Green Shell and Blue Shell lights, we’ve got everything you need to gear up for a summer of Mario.
